The opening ceremony of the Olympics recreated Leonardo da Vinci's iconic painting of Christ and his disciples at 'The Last Supper', using drag queens, a gay Smurf and Satanic symbolism.
Thomas Jolly, Artistic Director of the ceremony, said it 'was all about republican ideas, inclusion, caring, generosity and solidarity.'
