Spotlight on the ultra-orthodox

On 22 July 2013, The Daily Mail quoted the courtroom testimony of a ‘sad’ 18-year-old victim of ‘a 50-year-old man who forced her to perform sickening acts again and again,’ thus:

“I clearly remember how I would look in the mirror. I saw a girl who didn’t want to live in her own skin, a girl whose innocence was shattered, a girl who couldn’t sleep at night because of the gruesome invasion that had been done to her body.”

The Mail explained:

“She had testified that Weberman abused her repeatedly behind his locked office door from the time she was 12 until she was 15. Weberman was convicted last month on all 59 counts, including sustained sexual abuse of a child, endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse.

The trial put a spotlight on the ultra-orthodox community in Brooklyn and its strict rules that govern clothing, social customs and interaction with the outside world…

The teen and her family have been harassed and ostracized, reflecting long-held beliefs that any conflict must be dealt with from within. During the trial, men were arrested on charges they tried to bribe the accuser and her now-husband to drop the case. Others were accused of snapping photos of her on the witness stand and posting them online…

At least 10 cases were dismissed and seven downgraded because victims backed out or parents refused to let their children testify.”

The case of religious counsellor, Nechemya Weberman, was the most high-profile of 118 child abuse cases brought against members of the New York’s Orthodox Jewish community in the last 4 years.

45 men and one woman were subsequently convicted, of whom 25 were jailed.

Weberman, himself, is currently serving a 103-year prison term.

Do you know what an anti-Semite is these days, ladies and gentlemen?

It is anyone who would dare to publish a sordid little tale like this. It is anyone who would expose
wickedness emanating from a Jewish source. It is anyone who dares to tell a truth that reflects badly upon the Jew.

At least that’s how it might seem to someone who chooses to scrutinise in any depth the censorious behaviours of the Anti-Defamation League and the like.

Do you know who would very rarely fall foul of such an accusation? Do you know who would never publish a story like the one above if they had been the editor of The Daily Mail? Tony Blair and Gordon Brown would not have done so. David Cameron wouldn't. Obama, the Bushes, Clinton and a hundred thousand lesser known conspirators, all of whom have had the power to affect our lives for the worse in recent times, would not have done so.

So what do you think? Should knowledge of perverse and destructive behaviour be off-limits to the rest of us if a Jew commits it?

It should? In which case, you won’t mind if we make sure you get to live alongside the criminals you would thus advantage, when the world plucks up the courage to remove them from our midst.

Anyway, fair play to The Daily Mail for publicising the above, to the youthful Jewish victims who dared to speak out and to the NYPD for prosecuting the Jewish paedophiles cited.
