Unstoppable, accountable to no one and anti-democratic

On 11 December 2010, the Janet Daley essay, WikiLeaks is delinquent and anti-democratic, was published by The Telegraph:

In this she said:

“The frenzied hyperbole generated by the latest WikiLeaks episode – an anarchic, but so far remarkably ineffectual, spasm of delinquency – seems peculiarly weak in its understanding of the basic concepts with which its rhetoric is larded. It is, in fact, the precise opposite of what its apologists claim it to be: with its unilateral programme of revealing confidential information, which it boasts is unstoppable and accountable to no one, it is profoundly anti-democratic.”
Hark at the Neoconservative Yank calling the (Australian) truth-teller 'delinquent and anti-democratic'!

Back when when you and your fellows were spinning the the lemmings of the Western World into making ‘democratic’ war upon Iraq, Janet, I think most would agree that we could have done with a Wikiload of leaks back then. You know, a truthful 'spasm' or two to counteract the slaughterous lie? As it happens, I tend to agree with the 'remarkably ineffectual' thing and keep wondering when the good stuff will appear. Perhaps it won't. Perhaps Wikileaks is, as so many conspiracy theorists are now saying, just some establishment false flag operation.

Whatever it is, I'd much rather place my faith in the delinquent tattle-tale (whose tales happen to be true, if ineffectual) than a secret-keeping spin-mistress who once slavered for an illegitimate war she was never going to have fight herself.

Anyway, it's pretty obvious that Janet is one of those people who aren't too keen on the plebs getting to know stuff only elite, establishment types like her would, usually, be privy to.

Here's a little previously leaked leak of my own.

On 5 April 2003, the journalist, Ari Shavit, said this in the Israeli daily, Haaretz:

“The war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, MOST OF THEM JEWISH, WHO ARE PUSHING PRESIDENT BUSH TO CHANGE THE COURSE OF HISTORY.”
I'm not sure whether Janet Daly would describe herself as a Neocon and I doubt that she'd have the ear of George Bush. As for changing the course of history? Yeah. I think she’d have been up for that back in 2003.

The three things I'm sure of are these: Janet Daley was all for the invasion of Iraq; she would be happy for folks like us to consider her an 'intellectual' and, like the '25 neoconservatives', she's an American Jew.
