Transmission of COVID-19 from a healthy-seeming individual is "very rare!"

On 8 June 2020, Dr. Maria van Kerkhove, head of the WHO's Diseases and Zoonosis unit, said this at a press conference in Geneva:

“What proportion of asymptomatic individuals actually transmit? We have a number of reports from countries who are doing very detailed contact tracing. They're following asymptomatic cases, they're following contacts, and THEY ARE NOT FINDING SECONDARY TRANSMISSION ONWARD, IT'S VERY RARE... From the data we have it still seems to be rare that an asymptomatic person actually transmits onwards to a secondary individual!”

In other words, all the self-isolation, all the quarantining of otherwise healthy people who never showed any signs of illness, was for nothing!
