Fifteen years of catastrophic foreign policy

Pondering the successes of the ISIS Jihadis in Iraq, former Defence Secretary and Shadow Deputy leader of the Tory Party, Michael Portillo, treated us to this frank admission of culpability and ineptitude during the 12 June 2014 edition of BBC One's 'This Week:'
"It is the latest development of fifteen years of, I think, catastrophic foreign policy by the Americans and the British. I mean, to recap the foreign policy has been to remove nasty dictators from office with, kind of, no consideration as to what would follow next.
So the removal of Saddam Hussein in Iraq has led to disaster. The destabilisation of Assad in Syria has led to a prolonged civil war in which extremists are thoroughly active.

Libya is also largely under extremist control. And only in Egypt have things bounced back a bit because of a counter coup against the coup that we sponsored against Mubarak.
And I think when historians look at this they will be absolutely puzzled as to how it was that the West managed to follow a foreign policy over a period of fifteen years which led to the installation of its deadliest enemies."
Without the amoral intervention of the West in Iraq and the encouragement of the opposition forces in Syria, the primaeval barbarity that is the ISIS would not exist.

The fifteen years that Portillo speaks of were mostly dominated by the Neoconservatives in the USA and Tony Blair here. They are very worst of men. I'll let a couple of insiders well acquainted with the type tell you who these people are.

On 19 April 2013, Carl Bernstein, who, with Bob Woodward, brought about the downfall of Richard Nixon via their investigation of Watergate, said this on MSNBC’s 'Morning Joe' show:
“This was an insane war that brought us low economically, morally. We went to war against a guy who had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. It was a total pretext!

It’s inexplicable and there you go to Cheney, there you go to Bush, there you go to the Jewish neo-cons who wanted to remake the world. Maybe I can say that because I’m Jewish."
Joe Scarborough's response was interesting.
"I'm not really sure that you can," he said.
Do you get this? A TV host (Scarborough is a former Republican Congressman) is suggesting that telling the truth, if that truth be critical of the Jews, is off limits. It's not done.

Well, we all knew that, didn't we? Still, it's nice to have it on film. Along with an honest Jewish gent's honest testimony.

Scarborough added:
"It would be much worse if a Southern Baptist said that. But I think actually some would accuse of you of Bush Derrangement Syndrome there, that there was this grand conspiracy of the neo-cons and you said Jewish neo-cons, that they somehow went to war on a pretext for the State of Israel.”

So, a bought-and-paid-for type by the name of Joe Scarborough gets to take the p*** out of an honest man on behalf of those who do not want the truth known. Which isn't too unusual in these terrible times.

The great French philosopher, Voltaire, once said this:
"To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise."
Well, every now and again, the ruled are daring to criticise the rulers nowadays. Of course, it helps diffuse the finger-waggers' ire when a bona fide member of the ruling clique breaks ranks and confirms what the daring are saying.

You see, those whom the truth offends cannot call Carl Bernstein an anti-Semite as he is Jewish himself. Their bought jobsworths can take the p*** and say he's a victim of 'Bush Derrangement Syndrome' and the Chosen can also call him a 'self-hating Jew' but that rather tame little sneer just doesn't carry the weight of the damning anti-Semitic indictment.

Oh yes, when a Jew comes clean and tells the world what the truth-tellers have been saying all along, it's liable to have a far greater effect on those who hear it, than the fascistic chirrups of an easily dismissable 'anti-Semite.'

Which, of course, irritates the hell out of those we are 'not allowed to criticise.'

Good for you, Carl, you did the world a favour here.

Bernstein is by no means the first Jewish gentleman to speak out thus. Ten years before, the Israeli journalist, Ari Shavit, said this in the 3 April 2003 edition of Ha’aretz:
"The war in Iraq was conceived by 25 neoconservative intellectuals, MOST OF THEM JEWISH, who are pushing President Bush to change the course of history."
Anyway, these days it's not just me saying the Neoconservative Jews of America made Gulf War II.

Check out the war's timeline here.

As regards the other disasters the 'type' has wrought upon the world, here's another testimonial:

On 3 October 2007, General Wesley Clark said this at the Commonwealth Club in California.
“We had instead a policy coup in this country, a coup, a policy coup. Some hard-nosed people took over the direction of American policy and they never bothered to inform the rest of us.

I went through the Pentagon ten days after 9/11…and an officer from the Joint Staff called me into his office and said… ‘sir, we are going to attack Iraq.’ And I said, ‘why?’ He said, ‘we don’t know… they can attack states and they want to look strong is all’…

I came back to the Pentagon about six weeks later, I saw the same officer, I said why why haven’t we attacked Iraq?… ‘Oh sir,’ he says, ‘it’s worse than that… He pulled up a piece of paper of his desk, he said, I just got this memo from the Secretary of Defense’s office, it says WE ARE GOING TO ATTACK AND DESTROY THE GOVERNMENTS IN SEVEN COUNTRIES IN FIVE YEARS. We are going to start with IRAQ and then we are going to move to SYRIA, LEBANON, LIBYA, SOMALIA, SUDAN and IRAN, seven countries in five years’…
I was so stunned by this, I couldn’t begin to talk about it. And I couldn’t believe it would really be true, but that’s actually what happened.
These people took control of the policy in the United States and I realized, then it came back to me, a 1991 MEETING I HAD WITH PAUL WOLFOWITZ.

You know, in 2001 he was Deputy Secretary of Defense but in 1991 he was the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, it’s the number three position of the Pentagon.
And I had gone to see him when I was a one star general, I was commanding the National Training Centre... I called and up there he was available.
Scooter Libby came to the door. I met Scooter for the first time and he brought me in and I said to Paul and this is 1991, I said Mr. Secretary you must be pretty happy with the performance of the troops in Desert Storm.
And he said, ‘well yeah,’ he said ‘but but not really,’ he said, ‘because the truth is we should have gotten rid of Saddam Hussein and we didn’t’…
And he said, ‘but one thing we did learn, he said, we learned that WE CAN USE OUR MILITARY IN THE REGION IN THE MIDDLE EAST AND THE SOVIETS WON’T STOP US… AND WE HAVE GOT ABOUT FIVE OR TEN YEARS TO CLEAN UP THOSE ALL SOVIET CLIENT REGIMES; SYRIA, IRAN, IRAQ, before the next great superpower comes on to challenge us’…

It was like a nugget that you hold on to. THIS COUNTRY WAS TAKEN OVER BY A GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH A POLICY COUP, WOLFOWITZ AND CHENEY AND RUMSFELD AND YOU COULD NAME A HALF DOZEN OTHER COLLABORATORS FROM THE PROJECT FOR A NEW AMERICAN CENTURY. THEY WANTED AT US TO DESTABILIZE THE MIDDLE EAST, TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN, MAKE IT UNDER OUR CONTROL.

It went back to those comments in 1991. Now did anybody tell you that? Was there a national dialogue on this? Did senators and congressman stand up and denounce this plan? Was there a full fledged American debate on it? Absolutely not; and there are still isn’t, and that’s why we are failing in Iraq…

All you have to do is read the the Weekly Standard and Bill Kristol and he blabbermouths it out all over the world. Richard Perle the same way. They could hardly wait to finish Iraq so they could move in to Syria. It was like a lay down, ‘oh our legions are going to go in there.’ This wasn’t what the American people voted George Bush in to office, well they didn’t actually vote him to office, but it wasn’t… what he campaigned on.

He campaigned on a humble foreign policy… He campaigned on no peace keeping, no nation building and here he is with Afghanistan and Iraq, it’s astonishing…

Why are Americans dying in this region? That is the issue.”

Paul Wolfowitz, Scooter Libby, Bill Kristol and Richard Perle are Jewish. (As was Wesley Clark's father)

Rupert Murdoch foist The Weekly Standard on the world in 1995.

Rumsfeld and Cheney are pure evil. ‘Senators and Congressmen’ are bought-and-paid-for.

Bush was the smirking chimp.

All are traitors. As are Blair, Brown, Harman, Straw, Mandelson, David Miliband, Hoon, Cameron, Hague, Howard and all of those British parliamentarians who beat the drum for war with Iraq and Syria and snarl at and threaten those who don't toe-the US/UK/EU line in the Ukraine.

Spread the news, ladies and gents. The bad guys, the very worst of them, are not on their side.

They are, supposedly, on ours.

These wrought a savagery upon the world that is still to run its course.

Now go here.

The bisexual, half-Spanish former politician, Michael Portillo, who was once favourite to become Tory leader, voted for war with Iraq in 2003.

From 2002 to 2006 he was a non-executive director of the multinational defence contractor, BAE Systems. He was also, for a few months in 2006, a member of the board of an oil company.

It's rare for a mainstream politician to be as candid as he was on Thursday 12 June 2014. One wonders why he felt inclined to be so. Confession is good for the soul? Or, in a world where the lies, treachery and ineptitude of the western politician are ever more transparent and conspicuous, he sees the telling of the truth as the least worst option? Perhaps he's trying to score a brownie point or two with us before the deadly enemy-installers are all rounded up.

Anyway, for the strangely unvarnished truth published above, we thank him.

For the genocidal 2003 provenance, however, we do not.

  1. I've tried several times to comment on the state of Iraq, on the Daily Mail website, specifically that had the people voted BNP rather than mainstream, corrupt parties, we would never have got involved in invading Iraq in the first place! Needless to say, the DM wouldn't post that specific comment!

There was a socialist posting videos to youtube and my comments were deleted, merely for saying that had bLiar not been voted into power, had the people had the guts to stick up for themselves and their own, and voted BNP, hundreds of British troops, and thousands of Iraqi civilian would not now be dead. Socialist couldn't handle it/deleted me!

One score was getting a comment posted on the DM highlighting Barbara Spectre's statements that the Jews will play a big role in turning Europe multi cultural, and dictating that we must dance to that toon. I guess the DM posted that comment because whoever was moderating the comments had no clue who Barbar Spectre is!

Oh yes, great blog, by the way, much appreciated!

  2. Been trying to comment on stuff at The Mail's site for around 12 years now, almost nothing ever got through. Thank you for the kind words and well done with BS!

In a beautiful world Ms Spectre's mindset would be available for analysis by all.

    We're getting there.

  3. I was banned from the Mail and threatened with being reported to my internet provider for trying to write the truth as I see it. The bloody cheek of them. Must have really hit a nerve. I would guess that there are many more people who don't get comments published in that sickening excuse for a news paper.

I think your article and this site are excellent.
