Oliver Stone's Secret History

In January 2010, film director, Oliver Stone, was touting his upcoming miniseries, 'Secret History of America' to the Television Critics Association in Pasadena.

At this event, he said:

"Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and it's been used cheaply. He's the product of a series of actions. It's cause and effect ...  

People in America don't know the connection between World War I and World War II... 

We're going to educate our minds and liberalize them and broaden them. We want to move beyond opinions ...  

Go into the funding of the Nazi party. How many American corporations were involved, from GM through IBM. Hitler is just a man who could have easily been assassinated...  

I don't want to put out conventional History Channel product... It would be a very different counterweight to what they (schoolchildren) are learning."

On 25 July 2010, Stone, whose father was Jewish, said this in an interview with Sunday Times reporter, Camilla Long:

"Hitler did far more damage to the Russians than the Jewish people...  

Hitler was a Frankenstein but there was also a Dr Frankenstein. German industrialists, the Americans and the British. He had a lot of support…  

There's a major lobby in the United States… They stay on top of every comment, the most powerful lobby in Washington. Israel has fucked up United States foreign policy for years."

Asked why there was such a focus on the Holocaust, Stone replied:

"The Jewish domination of the media.”

A few days later, Jewish billionaire, Haim Saban, said this in his blog at The Huffington Post:

"Oliver Stone should be given a helping hand, indeed, a vigorous shove, into the land of forced retirement. There, in the professional wilderness where he belongs, standing on a splintered soapbox right next to Mel Gibson's, he can preach his anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism into the wind.  

Anyone who works with this guy should be ashamed of himself/herself."

Saban subsequently called on CBS’ Showtime Networks to cancel Stone’s 10-hour series. This did not happen. The renamed 'Untold History of the United States' may now be seen here.

In February 2012, Oliver Stone's son, Sean, became a Shiite Muslim.
