Straw and Blair concealed plan to allow in more migrants

On 25 October 2009, the political editor of The Mail on Suday, Simon Walters, told us this:
"Jack Straw and Tony Blair 'dishonestly' concealed a plan to allow in more immigrants and make Britain more multi-cultural because they feared a public backlash if it was made public, it has been claimed.
The allegation was made after a former Labour adviser said the Government opened up UK borders partly to humiliate Right-wing opponents of immigration.
Andrew Neather, who worked for Mr Straw when he was Home Secretary, and as a speech writer for Mr Blair, claimed a secret Government report in 2000 called for mass immigration to change Britain's cultural make-up forever...
Mr Neather said there was a 'driving political purpose' behind Labour's decision to allow in hundreds of thousands of migrants to plug gaps in the labour market... Neather claimed that earlier, unpublished versions of the report made clear that one aim was to make Britain more multi-cultural for political reasons.

'I remember coming away from some discussions with the clear sense that the policy was intended, even if this wasn't its main purpose, to rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date,' he said...

Civil servant Jonathan Portes, who wrote the immigration report, was a speechwriter for Gordon Brown and is now a senior aide to Cabinet Secretary Sir Gus O'Donnell...
The report, entitled Research, Development And Statistics Occasional Paper No67, Migration: An Economic And Social Analysis, was published in January 2001 by the Home Office, then run by Mr Straw. Most of its key statistics came from a PIU team led by Mr Portes.

The report paints a rosy picture of mass immigration, stating: 'There is little evidence that native workers are harmed by migration. The broader fiscal impact is likely to be positive because a greater proportion of migrants are of working age and migrants have higher average wages than natives... Most British regard immigration as having a positive effect on British culture.'

Mr Portes remains an enthusiastic advocate of the benefits of immigration. He wrote a report for the Department of Work and Pensions last year rejecting claims that Eastern European workers had stolen the jobs of British counterparts, arguing Britons lacked the skills and motivation.

A former Government adviser told The Mail on Sunday... 'It is not a very honest Government. They knew immigration was a hot issue and they did not want to get into a fight on it.'

The source said Labour deliberately targeted William Hague and Michael Howard when they called for tougher immigration controls.

Mr Hague was accused of 'playing the race card' in 2001 when he said Mr Blair was turning Britain into a 'foreign land'. Michael Howard was called a 'racist' in 2004 after he went to BNP stronghold Burnley, in Lancashire, to denounce Labour's stance on asylum seekers.
A Labour insider suggested Mrs Roche relaxed immigration controls partly in response to the outcry she faced after criticising begging Romanian mothers. 'She was called a scumbag,' said the source. 'She wanted to show she was a genuine liberal'."

Of those mentioned in the above article, Home Secretary, Jack Straw, Immigration Minister, Barbara Roche, and Jonathan Portes, 'who wrote the immigration report,' are all Jewish.

On 8 April 2013, a report from the National Institute of Economic and Social Research insisted that the forthcoming migration of Bulgarians and Romanians into the UK would only have a 'modest' impact.

  2. I prefer letting the Muslims and Africans mass immigration to Britain then those damn Bulgarians and Romanians. What Bulgarians and Romanians have to to with Brits? But Brits have excellent relations with Muslims and Africans and hot love continue from the colonization era. I suggest that half of the Brits will be black Muslims!

    1. You are a deluded idiot if you think muslims are any better. They are taking over and breeding us out with the agenda of bringing sharia law which is undemocratic and takes away all freedom to rule by dictatorship. As for black african migrants their just after a free rid at our tax payers expense and seem to think they are entitled to be here.

  3. Jews behind flooding the West with immigrants, you say? I, for one, am shocked.

  4. Well, only 1-in-200 Brits are Jewish and yet, there they are. Blair, Brown and Mandelson (father Jewish) bear more responsibility but still, the Jewish element's influence was much greater than it should have been according to their incidence in the general population.

  5. I used to think that people like David Duke with their Jewish conspiracy theories were a lunatic fringe, but it is noteworthy that the three Labour ministers most responsible for the government's secret open door immigration policy in 2001 were Jews. These are Jonathan Porter, Jack Straw and Barbara Roche. Judging by the example of Ed Milliband it seems that not being a practicing Jew does not mean you cannot have a Jewish identity. According to the Jewish Chronical Ed Milliband addressed the Labour Friends Of Israel annual lunch thus

"In a final flourish, he said that, if elected Prime Minister next year, he would enter Downing Street proud to be a “friend of Israel, a Jew and… part of the community gathered here today”.

Is it possible to have a Jewish identity and a British identity at the same time? I doubt it because the last Labour government's open door immigration policy betrays a lack loyalty and respect for the indigenous people of Britain.

  6. As regards the Jewish Yank, Jonathan Portes, Barbara Roche, whose parents were both immigrant Jews, and "third-generation Jewish", Jack Straw - you may find another essay at this site instructive, Robbie. i.e.
