Outnumbered is my favourite programme

On 18 June 2011, James Delingpole said this in The Daily Mail:

"The BBC has had to apologise after being caught out telling porkie pies in one of its Panorama documentaries. Though it claimed to show genuine footage of exploited Indian child labourers sweating for a pittance to make cheap fashion for Primark, these scenes had in fact been staged… On the internet right now you can see a film which shows the three Indian boys who were co-opted into pretending to work on a sequinned shirt acquired from the real Primark workshops 300 miles away. ..

Sure, in theory the BBC is committed by its Charter to neutrality, fairness and balance. But IN REALITY IT IS – AND LONG HAS BEEN – A SHAMELESSLY BIASED MOUTHPIECE FOR THE ACHINGLY PC VALUES OF THE TOFU-EATING, METROPOLITAN, GUARDIAN-READING CLASSES… THE SELF RIGHTEOUS LIBERAL BLEEDING HEARTS DRAWN TO WORK AT THE BBC LIKE FLIES TO ROTTEN MEAT BELIEVE THEY’RE ON A MISSION SO NOBLE AND PURE THAT THEY NEED NOT CONCERN THEMSELVES WITH SUCH IRRELEVANT DETAILS AS HONESTY, BALANCE OR ACCURACY. What matters to them far more is that EVERY DAY THE BBC SHOULD BE OUT THERE TELLING THE WORLD THE ‘CORRECT’ WAY TO THINK.

On any given subject you know exactly what the BBC’s position is going to be…the United States is a dumb, vulgar, militaristic bully (but President Obama is marvellous and Michelle even more wondrous still); the European Union is great and anyone who opposes it is a Little Englander… Which is all very well if you believe in all these values yourself. BUT NOT SO CLEVER IF YOU’RE ONE OF THOSE LICENCE-PAYERS FORCED – ON PAIN OF IMPRISONMENT – TO STUMP UP £145.50 A YEAR FOR THE BBC TO DISSEMINATE LEFT-WING PROPAGANDA WITH WHICH YOU VIOLENTLY DISAGREE…

Not even comedy is immune. The BBC1’s new trendy Lefty director of programmes DANNY COHEN announced a plan to move away from such middle class comedies as… Outnumbered to something more ‘blue collar’. HERE IS THE AUTHENTIC VOICE OF THE BBC: CONTEMPTUOUS OF POPULAR TASTE; DETERMINED TO INFLICT THE CORRECT IDEOLOGICAL MESSAGE REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT’S ONE PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR."

Outnumbered is my favourite programme. And Danny Cohen is taking it away from me?
